Present day studies offer some evidence that green spaces provide support for psychological restoration. Previous studies have shown mental health benefits for children and adults with better access to green space buffer the negative impact of stress from expectations of modern life on children and adults. Neurotic, stress-related, and somatic disorders, as well as single and recurrent depressive disorder, had some of the highest relative risk and population attributable risk which could reflect the role of green spaces as restorative environments.
